Pics from Saturday Funkshion Fashion Show at Bass Museum
By Jordan Melnick | October 24th, 2010 | 1 CommentLocal portrait photographer Katia Hernandez captured these images at last night’s Funkshion Fashion Week Miami Beach event at the Bass Museum of Art. Hosted by Miami Heat power forward Juwan Howard, the show benefitted cancer research and featured the lucky progeny of various NBA players — including LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Tracy McGrady — as runway models.

Canadian R&B singer Deborah Cox sang at the event, which benefitted Howard’s Juice Foundation and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Katia Hernandez was made in the USSR and fine-tuned in the U.S.A. A portrait photographer, she is driven by a profound interest in her subjects, by compassion, and endless curiosity. You can view more of her work at www.katiahernandez.com.

Nice work, and thanks for letting me sit in front of you to photography Deborah Cox (your actions and her performance made my night) ;).
