Miami Critical Mass Halloween Costume Ride
By Jordan Melnick | October 30th, 2010 | 10 CommentsA late afternoon downpour nearly stopped the Miami Critical Mass Halloween Costume Ride in its tracks. But the skies cleared just in time and some 300 headless bikemen showed up to ride 19 miles through Brickell, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Little Havana, Downtown, and Edgewater. A lot of riders wore costumes, but one committed group distinguished itself from the pack.

We might have awarded Spider Boy (below) Best Costume(s), but this entourage of proud Mario Kart nerds eked out first prize when they brought Battle Balloons to the party.
Here are some more photos from the ride, including a good many runner-ups in the Costume Contest.

Drew a little attention … for some reason.
After the ride, a hundred plus Massers stopped at Formerly PS14 (BAR) downtown to watch the second half of the Heat home opener, drink beer, and eat hotdogs (= Heaven), and we gave out free Beached Miami Wolfcyclist tees.
It was another fine Miami Critical Mass ride and a ghoulish start to a promising Halloween weekend. (See Top Ten Miami Halloween Weekend Events HERE.) If you missed it, don’t fret. You would have had to see this …

… in person.

I’m the French Maid in the 7th photo down, beside Heidi & the caveman. I’m terribly embarrassed that my dress failed to comply, but I’m glad that I have a picture to remember my first Critical Mass.
Which one are you?
I’m not in any of the pics. Maybe you saw me: I was wearing a red Beached Miami shirt with a wolf riding a bicycle in silhouette (which you can see HERE).
[...] for the 15-mile ride. Said badass, who had already proven his CM spunk by dressing as sushi for the Halloween ride, had to pull over every 15 minutes or so to tinker with the wiring. But he always hauled ass to [...]
