Miami Critical Mass December 2010 NYE Ride

MC Sushi hauled out the sound wagon to rock the NYE ride.

Last night’s Critical Mass — an early-evening ride through The Roads, Coral Gables, Little Havana, Brickell, and downtown — ruled thanks in large part to the blissful weather and the badass who towed a loudspeaker from his bike, providing a hi-fi soundtrack of quality tuneage (LCD Soundsystem, Broken Social Scene) for the 15-mile ride. Said badass, who had already proven his CM spunk by dressing as sushi for the Halloween ride, had to pull over every 15 minutes or so to tinker with the wiring. But he always hauled ass to catch up to the Mass, and we were never without music for long. This fine fellow made my ride and, I suspect, many others’. I hope he hauls out the woofer every month. Whether or not it was just an NYE thing, dude helped us close out the year on a good note.

Here are some pics from the ride.

Fella who brought out the speaker is named Daus and runs the Miami Bicycle Sound System Project. Learn more and donate (if you please) on his Facebook page.
