Podcast #5: Missed Connections, BSS, and a Woodie

By | February 10th, 2011 | 2 Comments

In this week’s podcast, we give you the Craigslist South Florida Missed Connections run down (“chicken empanada seeks spinach empanada”), share a snippet of the audio from my interview with Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene, and forecast the weekend’s events, including Christo at FIU on Friday and Second Saturday Art Walk on … Saturday. We also have an Amber Alert from WVUM about the station’s bid to take home a 2011 mtvU Woodie.

You can subscribe to our podcast RSS feed, which includes an mp3 download of each episode. If you have any suggestions — a person to interview, an event to forecast, a shot of hemlock to gargle — please email us at podcast@beachedmiami.com.

    This was hilarious.

“Is this woman daft? She doesn’t get the chicken hint?”

So glad I found a podcast about Miami’s local scene. Looking forward to hearing more episodes in the future. Not sure if you have discussed this before but what do you think it will take for our local scene to truly blow up beyond Miami? I’m mostly talking about the music scene getting major coverage on all the big sites/blogs. Just something I’ve been thinking about for a while.
