Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings at the Fillmore

Touring on their fourth album, I Learned The Hard Way, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings brought the soul revival to the Fillmore Miami Beach Sunday night. The turnout was pretty low — stubs as high as $68 probably kept a lot of fans away — but that didn’t stop Jones and co. from doing Sweet Philly right. Here are some photos from the show and, at the end of the post, the title-track video off of Jones’ latest.

So far, one of the best shows in 2011. No gimmicks, no laptops, no haircuts…..just raw energy and sweat. The Dap-Kings are all accuracy & precision. Worth every penny of the ticket price if not more.

@Mikey, “no laptops, no haircuts” That’s the best review of a show I’ve ever read. Hilarious.
