Sweatstock 2011 Lineup (phase 1)
By Jordan Melnick | March 23rd, 2011 | No CommentsSweat Records just announced its lineup for Sweatstock 2011, an all-day, all-FREE, all-Miami celebration of independent music on Record Store Day (April 16). Unlike last year’s lineup, which boasted L.A.’s No Age as a headliner, the Sweatstock 2011 shelves are stocked with local produce only. No problem here, especially since there’s finally enough Miami talent (once an oxymoron) to keep a crowd awake and rocking for 14 hours straight.
Here’s the lineup for the outside stage, which will get going at 2 p.m.
BEINGS
PANIC BOMBER
DEAF POETS
ARTOFFICIAL
LIL DAGGERS
THE STATE OF
ENTRESOL
CAN’T STOP
WLRN’s Pure Imagination, Casa De Ha-Ha, Coral Morphologic, and food trucks aplenty will also be on site.
Inside Sweat, a steady stream of DJs will man the decks starting at noon. Here’s the lineup at this point.
TOM LAROC
JUAN BASSHEAD
& MC JUMANJI
CONTRA
DJ IMMORTAL
MIKE DEUCE
DJ HOTTPANTS
INDUCE
CARMEL OPHIR
HAITIAN HILLBILLY
BONNIE BEATS
There will also be music next door at Churchill’s, though only Guy Harvey and the Getback have been confirmed (to me) at this point. Sweat owner Lolo Reskin says this is only “Phase 1″ of the Sweatstock lineup. It’s not a bad start, although I do hope a few more local notables get on the bill. We’ll keep you posted on any updates. Until then, here’s a video montage from last year’s Sweatstock.
