Photos: Sketchy Halloween Party at Awarehouse
By Jordan Melnick | October 31st, 2011 | No CommentsI’ve got to hand it to Miami people. They won’t show up to vote on a cloudless morning, but hours of endless rain won’t stop them from leaving the house dressed up as, say, a pair of Devilled eggs (or simply a pair of devils) to get down after dark on Halloween weekend. Which is to say, despite the fact that it rained cats and Cujos Saturday night, the Sketchy Halloween Party at Awarehouse drew ghouls, goblins, Mad Hatters, Miss Piggies, and bloodied nurses from all over Miami. Kudos to everyone who came out to terrorize the night in full Halloween regalia. You made the party a wonderful horror.

Artist Brian Butler, a regular Sketchy Miami contributor, gives the aforementioned Devilled eggs the Ice Cream People treatment.
There were eleven Miami artists at the party drawing people in costume, including watercolor painter Marcelo Daldoce.
We gave away Pearl gift cards for the night’s best costumes. Naturally, this fairy got one.
The State Of, Arboles Libres (singer Juan Ignacio LondoƱo pictured below), and organicArma kicked out the jams throughout the night.
Wasabi Fashion Kult and co were on hand to make people look good and freaky.
Miami-based raconteur Matt Gajewski, the mind behind Pure Imagination, took the stage to tell a scary story even though he was in the process of being digested by a lion.

It was good to see some familiar faces from the Sketchy Miami photo gallery, including J. Matt Hoch, whose photo has inspired 12 different Sketchys.
