Sketchy Roundup: Five for Friday
By Jordan Melnick | November 25th, 2011 | No CommentsDid you know Beached Miami has a sibling called Sketchy Miami? The project has a simple and impossible goal: To create a portrait of every person in Miami. The portraits below — we call them Sketchys — are five out of the 600+ created by Miami artists. They were each inspired by a face in the Sketchy Miami photo gallery. To learn more about the project and how you can get involved, visit sketchymiami.com.
“Monique Quadros” by Marcus

“S. Peppy Bennett” by Kim Moore
Kim is one of the most prolific Sketchy Miami artists, having contributed more than 20 Sketchys dating back to early August. To see more of her work, check out her Sketchy Miami artist page.
“Karla #2″ by Christina Fernandez
There are currently two Sketchys based on Karla’s photo in the Sketchy Miami photo gallery — thus the “#2″ in the title. That’s an important part of the project: A single photo may inspire 10 (or 20 or 100) Sketchys, each by a different Miami artist. This way, you can see how different artists interpret the same photo. “Dave and Dexter #2″ by Martin Rodriguez
Martin is also a regular Sketchy Miami contributor. To see more of his work, check out his Sketchy Miami artist page.
“Jennyfer” by Oscar E. Alonso
As you can see, Oscar’s style is unmistakable. To see more of his work, check out his Sketchy Miami artist page.
