ScoreBig, Beached Miami team up to offer ticket deals

Remember several years back when the Miami Heat were average, Dwyane Wade was incandescent, and you could sit in the upper deck for 10 bucks? Well, with the Big Three calling American Airlines Arena home now, those days are far behind us (though, on a good night, you can still read by the light coming off of D-Wade’s brow).

The recent hike in ticket prices is one of the reasons Beached Miami is partnering with ScoreBig to offer our community discounted tickets for live local events, including Heat, Florida Panthers, and Miami Dolphins games. The process is easy:

1. Find the event you want to attend.
2. Choose the seats you want to sit in (from one-star to five-star).
3. Tell ScoreBig what you want to pay (similar to the Priceline model).
4. Get an instant answer. You may not get your asking price, but the offer will always be between 10 percent and 60 percent below retail price and, unlike with Ticket Master and the like, there will be no fees.

ScoreBig is pretty new and right now they are exclusively offering tickets to sports events in Miami, but cultural events (music, arts, theatre) are on the horizon. Stay tuned and we will let you know when those come on line. For now, you can learn more on the Beached Miami ScoreBig page.

Before you go, leave a comment on this post to enter to win $100 of ScoreBig credit, which you can use for any event listed on ScoreBig right now. (I suggest the Heat-Lakers matchup on Jan. 19 — nothing like a little scorched Kobe to make the NBA lockout a distant memory.) We will announce the winner of the giveaway on the Beached Miami Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

This sounds like a great idea. Especially when you consider how expensive tickets have become and how very little the economy has leveled out. Kudos to you guys.
