Show alert! Beached Miami presents Third Thursdays at The Electric Pickle on Feb. 16 with three of South Florida’s best: Guy Harvey, New Coke, and Lil Daggers. Many thanks to Grolsch for sponsoring the show and supporting South Florida music. To learn all of the details, check out the Facebook event page. Here’s a bit about each band.
GUY HARVEY: Recently featured in Brooklyn Vegan, this West Palm Beach-based quartet plays a solar-powered brand of alt-pop revival that catches the ear like a riptide. Singer Adam Perry recently appeared with Surfer Blood on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Guy Harvey’s “Something in the Way” Nevermind Miami cover is probably the best thing you’ll hear today.
New Coke: Snagging the #7 spot on the Top 50 SoFla Songs of 2011, Lake Worth-based New Coke — the trio of singer/guitarist Danny Morales, guitarist Gabe Schnirnan, and drummer Steve McKeane — introduced themselves in 2011 by making the West Palm rounds at staples like The Speakeasy, Snooze Theater, and Dada, as well as opening up for Oakland’s Nobunny at Propaganda. More importantly, the trio released a delightfully sinful debut 7” with “He Got Stabbed in the Throat” and “All I Want Is Your Sunshine”, the kind of song that convinces you of a band’s all-around worthiness in a single listen.
Lil Daggers: Darkly cinematic, Miami-based Lil Daggers make the music of imminent danger. The quintet will be opening the show. This track is the B-side to a single soon to be released in the UK.
The flyer for the show is the creation of Brian Butler, the mind behind Upper Hand Art and the Ice Cream People collection and a Sketchy Miami all-star. It looks even cooler in high-res. Feel free to show it to everyone you know.
