Dwyane Wade on Miami Critical Mass: “This won’t be my last ride.”

By | October 1st, 2012 | 4 Comments

With the start of a new NBA basketball season around the corner, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade decided to work a bike ride into his training regimen. The eight-time All Star and two-time champion rode in the monthly group ride Critical Mass on Friday night and, as you can see in the video below, he seems to have caught the Critical Mass bug. “Yo, this is bananas,” Wade says in the video. “Critical Mass. I like it. With the people, you know what I mean, riding through the streets — I like it. It’s nice, man. I enjoyed it. This won’t be my last ride. Gotta get another one.” Something tells me next month’s ride is going to break the attendance record.

I love CM, for many reasons, but dont you worry that the pace of the ride is too fast, and as a result, the mass gets splintered. And once the mass is splintered, cars get antsy. I hate to say this but I fear something bad is goin to happen. Metro Miami is one of the most dangerous cities in the country for pedestrians and bikers.

Lol. That’s it. off this comment I’m writing an essay lol

JJ I agree. Starting the ride down the Flagler bridge speeds it up and it can never recover. You have to realize that once that first line has gone over, there is still a backup to get over the bridge for a long, long time. The front of the ride is easily a mile ahead of the back. No matter how slow they go at that point, it will take 10 minutes for the ride to catch up, even if they were dead stopped. Not sure what the solution is save for a few people wearing uniforms or something leading.

For the record, and i cant confirm this other than circumstantially, I heard DWade was one of the dudes riding up front, passing Rydell, ect. Not that DWade would or should know any etiquette. He’s not the problem. The problem is a splintered mass. And it should and could be addressed, with a little leadership, teamwork and communication!

Seems to me like D Wade has found a new hobby, I think I’ll use him more on my fantasy team this year. Hey did you hear what President Obama said about NFL and College football players? Check out this article on my website.
