There may be several true pictures of Heaven, but one of them has to be moshing in bathing suit and flip flops while cruising the Caribbean Sea aboard an enormous ship. The Bruise Cruise is offering that experience to the living with a three-day tropical rock extravaganza aboard the Carnival Imagination, sailing from the Port of Miami to Nassau, the Bahamas, and back. The acts on the bill this year include Fucked Up, King Khan & The Shrines, The Soft Pack, The Dirtbombs, Thee Oh Sees, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Neil Hamburger, and DJ Mr. Jonathan Toubin, with other acts TBA.
From Feb. 10 to Feb. 13, the festival will include multiple concerts at sea, a party on the Bahamas island, open-bar cocktail hours, a soul dance-off with cash prizes, comedy shows, lectures, workshops, and a puppetry breakfast hour with Miss Pussycat. Amenities featured on board include casinos, resort-style pools, hot tubs, miniature golf, water parks, fine dining, and all-you-can-eat buffets.
The Cabin Giveaway
Cabin reservations range from $695/person to $760/person, and, with only 475 accommodations available, tickets will sell out before long. As a sponsor of the Bruise Cruise and its kick-off party at The Stage, we have an interior cabin to giveaway to one lucky sealubber. The cabin accommodates two people and covers all meals, Bruise Cruise events, taxes/gratuities, vinyl boxset featuring 7″ releases by several of the participating bands, a bottle of wine, and other perks. Important: You must have a valid passport to board the cruise.
To enter to win the cabin giveaway, send an email from your primary email address to bruisecruise [at] beachedmiami [dot] com with the subject line “Cabin!” and your full name in the body of the email. Soon after, you will receive an email reply with instructions on how to secure a place in the contest. You will not be eligible to win the cabin unless you follow the instructions in the email, so make sure it doesn’t get lost in your spam folder.
We will announce the winner of the contest on the Beached Miami Facebook page on
Tuesday, January 17 Thursday, Jan. 19. Until then, we will be posting interviews with some of the sea-bound Bruise Cruise bands, so look out for those.
