Whoa, whoa, WHOA. With all the buzz around Bruise Cruise, the three-day “tropical rock ‘n’ roll vacation” which will depart Miami for Nassau on Feb. 25 with Black Lips, Vivian Girls, Jacuzzi Boys, Surfer Blood, and 400 indie-rock fans aboard, no one seems to have noted the other incredible musical voyage launching from Miami later this month.

The fourth-annual Cayamo Cruise will leave port Feb. 13 with a capacity crowd and an all-star lineup of legendary folkies. With a roster that includes Loudon Wainwright, John Prine, Richard Thompson, Steve Earle, Colin Hay, and Patty Griffin, it’s no wonder the week-long “Journey Through Song” sold out even with ticket prices exceeding $1,000. Other Cayamo Cruisers include Brandi Carlile, the Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, Will Hoge, and Loudon’s daughter, Lucy Wainwright-Roche.

While the music-cruise trend is apparently gathering steam, some of the trips seem iceberg-bound. But the two voyages leaving Miami in February both promise to be worth the risk of a Bermuda Triangle disappearance. Unless you have a ticket or plan on stowing away, you won’t be going on either (Bruise Cruise is also sold out), but luckily you’ve got Youtube as a lifeboat. Here are a few videos from the pick of the Cayamo litter. They may not make up for being on the wrong end of the gangplank, but at least you won’t get a sun burn.
