I’m not sure what exactly was in air last night at Grand Central besides Zammuto, Explosions in the Sky, and a few discrete kinds of sweet secondhand smoke, but for one reason or another the night took on something of a religious quality. There were lots of closed eyes and raised hands in the crowd, and if you looked around carefully enough, something else too.

Ticket Giveaway: Explosions in the Sky at Grand Central

Touring behind their sixth album, Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, released in April of 2011 and featuring the track “Postcard from 1952″, Austin-based experimental post-rock quartet Explosions In The Sky will perform at Grand Central on Wednesday night, and we have a pair of tickets for the concert to give away to one lucky fan. To enter to win, describe your ideal postcard from 1952 — for example, “I have no reason to suspect you’re a communist. Love, Joseph McCarthy” — in the comment section of this post. We will announce the winner on the Beached Miami Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon. Until then, listen up.
