Everyone who turned up to catch the phenomenal El-P and Killer Mike show at downtown-venue Grand Central Thursday night was a die-hard fan. When either artist turned the mic to the audience, the crowd faithfully roared its reply. The room wasn’t full, but everybody in the building was packed to the front for the cult classic rappers.
With the release of Cancer 4 Cure, one of the most talked about hip hop albums of 2012, El-P, aka Jaime Meline, remains a major crossover force in indie music. With Killer Mike, one of Outkast’s favorite collaborators, and Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, who burst on the scene with last year’s Lost in Translation LP, El-P’s performance at downtown-venue Grand Central on Thursday promises to be one of South Florida’s best concerts of the year. We have a pair of tickets for the show to give away to one lucky fan. To enter to win, proclaim your preferred P-word (paramour, parsley, pleasance, prurience) in the comment section of this post. We will announce the winner on the Beached Miami Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon. Until then, here’s “The Full Retard” off of C4C.
Touring behind his fourth studio album, Cancer 4 Cure, Brooklyn hip hop artist and Weathermen member El-P (aka El Producto and Jaime Meline) will perform at downtown-venue Grand Central on Thursday, August 23, with emcee Killer Mike, who put out his sixth LP, R.A.P. Music, in May. Tickets for the 18+ show, which is part of the Into The Wild Tour (thus, the Sendakian graphic), are $22.50 including fees. For more details, visit GC’s website.
